On Monday, September 14, Aaron Botelho unexpectedly passed away at the age of 32. Aaron was born on November 1st, 1987 in London, Ontario to Orianna and John Botelho.
Aaron was entering his penultimate year of the Mining Engineering Program at the University of Toronto, where he played an integral role as a leader in his school community, and a dear friend to many. He dreamed of graduating and using his degree to assist in the development of new mining projects, exploring different corners of the world along the way.
Aaron was a curious individual who loved adventure, and was always up to see and explore, whether it was somewhere down the road, or thousands of miles away. He was known for hopping in his car every chance he got, driving to wherever felt right that day, just to enjoy the surroundings. Moreover, Aaron will be remembered for his admirable work ethic and calm, carefree attitude, which radiated, comforting those around him.
He will be sorely missed by his mother and father, Orianna and John, sister and brother, Melissa and Ryan, as well as his Nonna, Neria Melon, his Avós, João and Maria Conceição Botelho, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, we will be collecting donations for a scholarship in Aaron's name for a future Mining Engineering student at the University of Toronto, to honour his passion for education and his deep love for his school community.
