Adela Olechno

Peacefully passed away with her  family by her side on Saturday, February 25, 2023,  at St. Joseph’s Hospice London, Adela Olechno in her 89th year. Adela is survived by her children Halina Alexander, Bonnie (Bozena) Olechno (Stan Walter Habinski) and Irene Monyard (Ashley).

 Dear grandmother to Stanley Olechno Jr., Jack, Claire, Alan and Victoria. Sister to Janina Lenkiewiecz. 
Adela also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and extended family including Marian and Elizabeth Sawicki, Dana Bania and Monica and Fred Pernal. 

Predeceased by her husband Janusz Olechno (2004), her son Stanley Olechno (2016) and her siblings Walter Sawicki, Veronica Sawicki, Henry Sawicki, Kazimierz Sawicki, Marian Sawicki, Halina Sawicki and Jadwiga Sawicki. 

Adela was born on February 11, 1935 in Nowa Wola, Poland to parents Stefan and Waleria Sawicki. Adela, Janusz, Halina and Bonnie (Bozena)  immigrated from Poland and came to London, Ontario, Canada in May 1963.

The family would like to thanks Dr. Soofia L. Kazi and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice London for the care they provided to Adela.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill St., on Thursday, March 2, 2023  at 10:00 a.m. Followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, ON.

Eternal God and Father
we praise you that you have made people
to share life together and to reflect your glory in the world.
We thank you now for Adela,
for all that we saw of your goodness and love in her life, 
and for all that she means to each one of us. 
As we too journey towards death
may we do so in the company of Jesus 
who came to share our life 
that we might share the life of eternity . 
To him be glory with you and the Holy Spirit 
for ever and ever
