Aida (Iolanda) Di Trolio (nee Rizzoli) passed away peacefully at Mount Hope on May 11, 2017, at the age of 97. Born in Calabritto (Avellino) Italy on January 7, 1920, she married Gerardo Di Trolio in January 1941 and they enjoyed 55 years together. She is survived by her two sons, Frank (Trudi) and Eugene (Deborah), as well as four loving grandchildren, Laura, Elisa, Gerard, Sebastian and one great grandson Will. Iolanda and Gerardo immigrated to Canada so that their sons would have a better life and greater opportunities. She and her children immigrated to Canada in 1954, two years after her husband had settled in London, Ontario. Iolanda came from a large family and is survived by two sisters and a brother, Olimpia of Italy, Adalgisa of London, England and Claudio of Italy. Predeceased by her siblings Emidio, Noe, Gerardino, Eugenio, Maria, Ortensia and Marietta. Iolanda will always be remembered for her love and devotion toward her family and her endearing sense of humour. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, 345 Lyle at York St. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment in the Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter's Cemetery, London at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Church Restoration Fund.
