NEVETT - Aileen Peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at University Hospital, London. Mary Aileen Kenny was born on Good Friday, April 14, 1922 in Logan Township, the daughter of Edward Kenny and Ellen Forbes. Aileen was the loving wife of George Nevett for 55 years. She was the loving and caring mother of Mary-Ellen, Fr. Joseph, John (Sandy), Sgt. Patt of Comox, B.C., and Dr. Michael (Karen) of Alabama. Beloved and proud grandma of Chad, Sarah, Brett R.N., Kyle and Lane. She was the great-grandmother of Hunter Braswell of Alabama. Aileen is fondly remembered and survived by her brothers Wilfred (Helen) Kenny of Walkerton and Harold (Donna) Kenny of Elliot Lake, and sister-in-law of Eileen Nevett of Guelph and Marie (George) Hill of Ottawa. She was the much loved aunt of Gary Kenny (Debbie), Lisa Vandenburg (Anthony), Susan Cockram (Rick), Murray Kenny (Martha), Wendy Ciampaglia (Joe), Kevin Kenny (Rhona)) and Shawn Kenny (Barbara). Also left to remember her are many cousins of the Kenny Clan. Aileen was predeceased by her beloved older brother Eddie F. Kenny (2007). Aileen was a graduate nurse of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing - Class of 1953, and after a number of years assisting Dr. Bill Pace as his “Girl Friday” she began working in the Delivery Room at St. Joe’s, London, for many decades until her retirement in 1988. Aileen was an active volunteer at Marian Villa/Mt. Hope; St. Andrew the Apostle parish & the C.W.L. Family and friends are invited to the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. London, for visitation on Wednesday, January 28, from 2:00 - 4:000 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, (1 Fallons Lane at Huron St.) on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Memorial donations may be made to the Restoration Fund of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish or to St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, PO Box 5777 PS B CSC, London, ON N6A 6J6.
