Andrzej Wieslaw Debicki

Andrzej "Andrew" Wielsaw Debicki, born in Krakow, Poland on July 27,1920 died peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, July 16, 2018 in his 98th year. Andrew leaves behind his wife Patricia Janet Wilson and his only daughter Barbara, her husband Douglas, grand daughters Andrea Sturris and her husband Marc and Jennifer and her husband Ben Brenner. He is predeceased by his wife Hanka Debicki. Andrew served his country fighting it's enemies during World War II, he suffered the hard life of the Soviet forced labour camps and took part, with distinction in the Italian Campaign in the ranks of the 2nd Polish Corp under the British command and was the recipient of the Virtuti Militari Cross. After the war he chose life outside the sphere of Communism, first in England then in Canada where he worked in the Canadian textile industry and later the Federal Government in Ottawa, remaining faithful to Poland to the end. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Monday, July 23, 2018 from Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. followed by entombment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London at a later date. His cremated remains will be entombed next to those of his beloved wife, Hanka, in St. Johns Columbarium.
