On Friday, March 11, 2022, Antoni Kiezik passed away at the age of 75. For several months he had struggled with the disease that would ultimately lead to his death, while keeping the hope of recovery alive until the very end. Born in the Vilnius region in Braslaw, Antoni came to Canada in 1988 to find a better life. His family was involved in the fight for free Poland by taking part in the ranks of the Armia Krajowa in Operation Ostra Brama, and later imprisoned in Soviet labour camps. From his youth, he dreamed of getting out of Soviet "Paradise". In 1976, he managed to move to Poland permanently, and in 1987 emigrate from the communist regime to West Germany, and then to Canada. In Canada he finally was able to build his future. He believed that, with his own resourcefulness and hard work, he would ensure for himself and his loved ones a better future.
He leaves behind in sorrow his beloved son Tomasz, his sisters Mela and Halina with their families, his cousin Stanisaw and family along with other close friends.
Let him be united in the Father's House with his deceased parents, brother
Tadeusz and sisters Danuta and Lusia. He will remain forever in our hearts and memory for the gratitude, help and support that we received from him on many occasions.
Rest in peace. Lord, give him eternal rest. Amen
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill Street, London, Ontario, on Saturday, April 9, at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in Woodland Cemetery, London. Prayers at 9:30 a.m.
