Antonina Bednarek Dyjak

Antonina "Toni" Bednarek Dyjak, in her 88th year, died peacefully February 15, 2009, at
Mount Hope, London, Ontario, while attending Mass. Antonina Dyjak was born October
24, 1921 to Kunigunda and Josef Bednarek in Chobanin, Poland. Mrs.Dyjak
immigrated to Canada with her husband and son from Poland in 1950, first living in
Birr, Ontario. The family moved to London, Ontario, living there for 7 years before
moving to Mossley where they operated a dairy farm. The Dyjaks later retired from
farming and returned to London. Mrs. Dyjak sustained a paralyzing injury early in life,
but maintained a positive outlook and great determination. She was especially proud of
her children and grandchildren. She was fortunate enough to have met her first great-
grandchild. Antonina Dyjak is survived by her two sons, Henryk Stanislaw Dyjak of
Fort Collins, CO and Richard Josef Dyjak of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Todd Dyjak of
Boulder, CO; Tanya Dyjak of Denver, CO and Chad Dyjak of Tucson, AZ;
great-grandchildren Jacob Danzer of Phoenix, AZ, London Dyjak of Tucson, AZ, Devin
Dyjak and Dane Dyjak of Denver, CO. Mrs. Dyjak also has extended family in Poland.
Mrs. Dyjak was preceded in death by her husband, Josef Dyjak. Visitors will be received
in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on
Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m.
Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. The family of Antonina "Toni" Dyjak wish to thank the
nurses and staff of Mount Hope for their kindness through the years. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be sent to Mount Hope "Garden Fund", 35 Grosvenor St.,
London, ON N6A 1Y6, 519-646-6000.
