Antonio De Couto Pacheco

London, Ontario

It is with heavy hearts the family of Antonio “Tony” Pacheco announce his passing on to eternal life. Tony died with his family at his side on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Parkwood Hospital, London at the age of 65. Tony leaves behind his dear wife Maria of 41 years and partner in life for 50 years. He will be dearly missed by his children Stephanie Pacheco and Matthew Pacheco (Jessica). Much loved Vavô of Mekiah, Arianah, River, Ryland and Jaymeson. Dear brother of Martins and Nidia Pacheco, Mario and Rita Pacheco, Adelberto and Cecilia Pacheco, Delia Cordeiro, Maria dos santos Pacheco, Helena and Jose Luis Rebelo, Cristina and Tibério Machado and Sandra and João Carlos Melo. Predeceased by his parents Fastino and Jesuina and his brother Ricardo. 

Tony will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and São Miguel, Portugal. Antonio was a man whose life was marked by love, gratitude and unwavering faith. He cherished his family and friends deeply, always valuing those who stood by him, especially during his courageous battle with cancer. He also carried a deep warmth, kindness, sense of humour and steadfast loyalty he showed to those who mattered most. His love for his grandchildren was unbreakable and his love for farm animals, Toronto Maple Leafs and Benfica brought him joy and peace. He will be remembered for his warmth and kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. 

The family would like to thank the many nurses and care team that came to the home to care for Tony, the doctors and nurses at both Victoria Hospital and the palliative care team who looked after him in his final weeks at Parkwood Hospital. Nurse Rosalyn we would like to sincerely thank you for the care, compassion and support you have given Antonio over the past four years. Your dedication has made an immense difference in his journey and we are forever grateful for your kindness and professionalism. You have been a true source of comfort during such a challenging time. A special thank you to Tony’s long time oncology team and Dr. Breadner. Special thank you to Dr. Parent for all the love and support throughout this journey.


Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church, 10 Elm St at Hamilton Rd., on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.Online condolences & Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca
