Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Chelsey Park Nursing Home on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, Boleslaw “Bill” Chelchowski in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Teresa. Loving father of Dorothy Pawlowski (Witek) of Komoka, Richard and Derek (Krys) of Mt. Brydges, Joe (Sheelah) and Ted (Ela) of London. Proud grandfather of Joanne, Joshua (Lynn), Anna, Deanna, Daniel (Lindsey), Matthew (Sarah), Peter, Andrew (Jennifer), Monika, Nikki, Mark, Sarah, and Andrea. Brother of Bronek (Bogusia) of Brantford and Stasia Szmajter (Conrad) of Connecticut. Predeceased by his brothers John (of England) and Zigmund (of Poland). Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. An Allied Veteran of the 2nd World War, Bill served with the Polish Corps., 1st Lancers Regiment under British Command, fighting at the Battle of Monte Cassino. He is a founding member of the Polish Kombatants Association KOLO #2 of London. Visitors will be received on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill St. on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Private entombment later in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Prayers Friday at 8:15 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
