Boleslaw Lidzbarski

It is with great sadness that we announce that Boleslaw "Ben" Lidzbarski passed away peacefully with his family by his side at University Hospital, on Thursday December 27th, 2016 at the age of 92.Beloved husband of Olga of 62 years. Dear father of Edward, John and his wife Christina. Proud loving grandfather of Benjamin. Predeceased by his brothers; Jan, Leon, Stanislaw, Brunon and his sisters Wanda and Klara. Ben was born in Dobrzewino, Poland on Jan 1, 1924. He was a WW2 veteran serving in the Polish 2nd Corps, British 8th Army. Ben took part in the Italian Campaign at the battles of Monte Cassino, Ancona and Bologna. After the war, he immigrated to Canada in 1946 and settled in Montreal where he met and married Olga. In 1963 Ben moved his family to London. Ben was a devoted Bell Canada employee of 34 years. He had a passion for tinkering with everything mechanical and electrical which earned him the reputation of "Mr. Fix-it". Ben was very active in the Polish Community and was involved with many organizations. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Qualicare, Saint Elizabeth and peopleCare Oakcrosing for the care given to our father over the last few years. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by us all.Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home , 350 William St., on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 2 - 4 & 7- 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, (419 Hill St.) on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
