SHARP- Sister Corona (Elisabet Hovey)
On Friday, December 11, 2009 at Brescia University College, London, ON., Sister Corona Sharp OSU (Elisabet Hovey) entered eternal life. She was born in Pasadena, California in 1922, the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth (Darenghy) and Louis Sharp. She entered the Ursulines of the Chatham Union in 1948. During her religious life she served as a teacher in Chatham and Windsor before becoming an English Professor at Brescia University College. She is the author of many professional articles in both English and German. Sister also made and put on puppet shows in London.
She is survived by her dear friend Sr. Mary Louise McKenzie, OSU. She is predeceased by her parents and sister, Sister Carola OSU.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and for a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, (515 Cheapside St. at Maitland St.) London. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
