On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in his 90th year, peacefully with his family at his side, Dan passed away and is now at rest. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Madeline, and their children Kathy Causarano (Pat), Tim and Dan (Katie). A very proud Grandpa to Derek (Karen), Bryan (Eric), Jason (Britney), Steve (Amanda), Joanne (Dave), Spencer, Taylor, Cole, Jeff (Sarah) and Theresa (Dani). Loving Great-Grandpa to Davin, Chase, Kendra, Joey, Eddie, Parker and Ari. Dan is survived by his brother Jim and sister Mae Feeney (Pat) and sister-in-law Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents John and Mary, his brothers Jerome (Theresa) and Tom (Audrey), and his sisters Margaret Quinlan (Mike), Grace Smith (Bob), Jean Cote (Tom), and sister-in-law Jean. Born the 7th of 8 children in his family, Dan learned the importance of faith, family and service at a young age. He found great comfort in his faith, as he and Madeline settled into life at Holy Cross Parish in London, raising their 3 kids. Dan began his career as a teacher in 1953, and through his 35 years as a teacher and principal, he impacted many students and colleagues. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight of Council 6246. After his retirement, he and Madeline worked many years serving the less fortunate at the Sisters of St. Joseph Hospitality Centre. Dan also worked as a volunteer driver for the London Regional Cancer Centre for more than 10 years. There was nothing Dan loved more than to spend time with his family - the more the better! Whether it was late night card games with his siblings, or having the entire family for dinner, Dan always loved being with his family. We expect Dan just joined into a rousing progressive euchre game with his family in heaven.Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 10 Elm St. at Hamilton Rd on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11am.
