Peacefully at Extendicare – McGarrell Place, London on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, with family by his side Denis Vienney St. Denis in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Melba St. Denis. Dear father of Brenda DeSousa and Rose Harburn (Mark). Loving gramps of Travis Harburn, Jesse DeSousa and Denise Mason (Ben). Great-grandfather of Landon and Logan. Predeceased by his siblings Jeannine Longpre, Cy St. Denis and Aurele St. Denis. Brother-in-law of late Annette Arsenault (John), Irvin Richards (Carole), Len Richards (Alice) and Arlene St. Denis. Also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Denis, having grown up in the Prairies (born in Gravelbourg, raised in Coderre), enjoyed life in the fresh farm air which gave him his passion for the outdoors. Leaving Saskatchewan as a young man he settled in Toronto where he met Melba. The two eventually moved to London and then Granton in 1970 where they raised their family until moving back into London in 2010.
Denis had a passion for woodworking, playing piano (which he learned after retirement) and family. Denis lived for family. Being surrounded by his children and then grandchildren gave him his warm smile! He was proud of all of them! Whether it be playing croquette around the family property or simply sitting enjoying a nice chat solving the world’s problems, it gave him joy.
He will be missed.
Private family interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners (www.alzswp.ca). Online condolences & Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca
