Fionnuala Murphy

Surrounded by her family, Fionnuala passed away peacefully in London on Sunday, October 4th, 2020. Loving wife and best friend of Michael, she and Mike celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with family on Valentine's Day 2019. She will be dearly missed by her three sons, Ronan, Fergal and his wife Eleonore, and Donal. Adored grandmother of Alistair, Nora and Emily, "Nana Nuna" loved to sing songs to her grandchildren and play the piano with Alistair. Also lovingly remembered by her siblings Mortimer (Leong), Pierce (Monica), Terence (Yvonne) and Mary. Beloved sister in-law of Tom (Geraldine), Margaret (Paddy), Donal (Miriam) and Susan (Tony). Fondly remembered by her neices, nephews, and their children. Predeceased by her brother Dennis, who was laid to rest in Ireland at the age of two. Fionnula was born on May 5, 1944 in Cork, Ireland to Con and Eileen MacSweeney. She met and married Mike in Cork and worked with children with special needs. They immigrated to Canada in 1989 with their three young boys settling in London, Ontario. Fionnuala and Mike enjoyed playing music together at céilí gatherings. Of late, she could be best found with a hot cuppa enjoying quiet time with her beloved pup, Pooka.
