Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Victoria Hospital on Friday, December 12, 2008, Gerardus Maria “Gerard” Van Boxmeer in his 86th year. Beloved husband for 56 years of Francine (Gevers) Van Boxmeer. Dear father of Theo (Mavis) of London, Harry (Annette) of Dundas, Maria (Joe Rubinski) of Melbourne, Margaret (Brian Good) of Bracebridge, and Paul (Elaine) of London. Loving Opa of Katherine, Diane, Erika, Jacqueline, Kyle, Holly, Teresa, Christine, Robert, Jason, Michael, Edward, Nathan, Lindsey and Stephen. Great-Opa of Hannah, Keegan, Jaxon, Chloe and Taylor. Also survived by brothers Harry and Louis of London, and 3 brothers and 4 sisters in Holland. Predeceased by two brothers. Gerard was an active member of St. Andrews Parish Choir and a former member of the Fan Fara St. Cecilia Marching Band and the VOW Soccer Club. Visitors will be received on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Andrew the Apostle Church (1Fallon Lane at Huron) on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. Prayers Monday at 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Childcan, or Ronald McDonald House.
