Peacefully, on January 4, 2009 at Marian Villa Nursing home, Giovanni “John” Pasquini entered into eternal life. Giovanni is survived by his wife Maria of London, sons Henry and his wife Kathleen (nee: Dandeno) of London, Rudy and his wife Nicoletta (nee: Bellisario) of Woodbridge, his sisters Francis DiMarco of London and Giuditta Santo-Buono of Argentina. Nonno Giovanni will be sadly missed by his 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Ana Cummings and her husband James with sons Lachlan and Harrison of Calgary, AB., Paolo and his wife Diana with son Mateo and daughter Gioia of Toronto; Sandra and her husband Vince Baggetta and daughter Jessica of Maple, ON., John and his wife Kimberly of Maple, ON. Giovanni is predeceased by his parents Giovina and Federico, his sister Anna Pasquini in Italy, his brother Nicola Pasquini of London and Maria D’Allisandro in Arrgentina. On June 24, 1986 Giovanni retired as an Orderly from St. Marys Hospital (now a part of St. Joseph’s Health Centre) where he cared for the aged. He immigrated from Treglio, Abbruzzo, Italy to Canada in 1951 and later brought his family in 1954, where he and Maria worked hard to make a new life. Zio Giovanni, Dad and Nonno will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter’s Basilica on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Dabrowski, Celebrant. Entombment St. Peters Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
