BERNARDO - Giuseppe (Joe)
Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, London, on Thursday, November 4, 2010, Giuseppe (Joe) Bernardo in his 54th year. Born in Grimaldi, Italy, November 6, 1956, Joe came to Canada in 1974 to marry the love of his life, Patrizia. Left to mourn are his beloved wife of 35 years, Patrizia; four devoted sons: Carmine (Nicole), Joe, Fiore and Mario, his granddaughter Cybella (born November 1, 2010) and his Mother Maria. Loved brother of Esterina, Ida (Agostino), Maria (Tony), Emilio (Antonietta), and Angela (Luigi). Son-in-law of Rosina Vecchio and brother-in-law of Maria Catulli. Also remembered by a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends in Canada and Italy. Joe is predeceased by his Father Carmine, his brothers and sisters: Giovanni, Rosaria, Michele, Antonio and Luigina; his father-in-law Fiore Vecchio and his brothers-in-law Enrico Catulli and Salvatore Vecchio. Joe worked for 36 years in construction and most recently with TCG Construction. He dearly loved his work and the crews he worked with. Joe was a quiet man with great inner strength who will be forever remembered as a proud, loving and caring family man. He was meticulous, caring and generous to all and in true Italian tradition took great pride in his garden, homemade wine, cured hams, tomato sauce and excellent Italian sausage. Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church (345 Lyle at York) on Saturday, November 6, at 9:00 a.m. Entombment St. Peter Cemetery, London. Prayers Friday at 8:15 p.m. Memorial donations may bemade to the Canadian Cancer Society.
