Peacefully, with her family at her side, at Parkwood Hospital, London on Thursday, November 28, 2013, Helena (Brucka) Janik in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Rudolf (1992). Daughter of the late Antoni and Anastazja of Poland. Dear mother of Alicja Traczuk (Richard), Renata Kerr (Joe) of Kelowna, B.C., Maria Janik, Edward Janik (Kim) and Helena Janik of Toronto. Cherished Babcia of Karol "Chip" (Kathy), Gabriel (Wesdon), Alina, Stephanie, Anastasia and Julian. Babunia of Calvin and Colton. Dear sister of Edward (Zofia) and the late Walentyn (Lucja). Helena was born in Poland. World War II interrupted her carefree childhood resulting in relocation to a number of transit camps which included Siberia, Iran, Pakistan and India. After the war she settled in England where she met her future husband, Rudolf. They emigrated with their young family to Canada in 1957. Helena was a generous person with a kind heart who lived for her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London, on Monday, December 2, from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill Street on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Cremation and private interment at a later date. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care unit at Parkwood Hospital for their warm care.
