On Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Wentworth Court, Calgary, Alberta, Ida Pasquini (nee: Casalanguida) in her 90th year.

Beloved wife of the late Nicola Pasquini. Ida is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Coleen Pasquini of Niagara Falls, her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Peter McMahon of Calgary and her grandchildren Laura, Kathryn, Mark, Paul, Matthew (Maria) and Caroline. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Maria Pasquini and Francesca Di Marco of London, and Giuseppina Casalanguida of Rome, Italy.

Ida was born in Mozzagrogna, Italy on January 20, 1920. She married Nicola Pasquini of Trelgio, Italy, in 1948, and they emigrated to Canada in 1956, settling in London, Ontario. Nicola passed away in the prime of his life in 1968 and Ida carried on with courage and strength, working to support her family, until she retired at age 65 and moved to Calgary. Ida took great pleasure in the accomplishments of her two children and six grandchildren, as her family and faith were the core of her life. She loved Italian cooking and was the centre of many memorable family gatherings.

Ida is predeceased by her brothers Adolpho and Nicola Casalanguida of Italy, her sister Giulia Lanci of London, and her brothers-in-law Giovanni Lanci, Giovanni Pasquini and Umberto Di Marco.

Visitors will be received on Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
