Janina Zofia Cichy

It is with great sadness that the Muchan and Hastings families announce the death of Janina Zofia Cichy on Saturday, October 31st, 2015, a beloved mother, a devoted Babcia and a good friend. Beloved wife of the late Paul Cichy (1986). She will be missed by her daughters Irene Muchan and her husband Keith, and Mary Hastings and her husband Todd. Loving Babcia of Emily and Sean Hastings and Andrew Muchan. Dear friend of Jane and Brian Carroll. Janina was a generous, kind and faith-filled woman who was deeply devoted to and proud of her family. She will be remembered with much love for her big heart, her caring ways, and for the values she taught us so well through her own example. Janina had a great passion for gardening and a love of nature; she enjoyed baking and cooking and was a word search puzzle enthusiast. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Friday, November 6th, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church, 511 Cheapside at Maitland St., on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., followed by interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Our family would like to thank Dr. Faisal Rehman and Dr. Stephen Pautler for the compassionate care they provided our mother over the last few years. Thank you too, to the staff at St. Joseph's Hospice for creating a loving home for Janina during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janina may be made to Knock Out Kidney Disease, c/o Faisal Rehman, LHSC, St. Joseph's Hospice, or to a charity of choice.
