Karolina Macugajlo

Suddenly in Grimsby on June 11, 2012, Karolina Macugajlo of Beamsville (formerly London). Wife of the Late Klemens (2009), she is survived by daughters Anna and Lydia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Adam and Zofia, her brother Nikodem and her sisters Maria and Roma. Karolina was born in Poland on August 12, 1922. Shortly after the start of World War II, the family was taken to a labour camp in Siberia, where she endured many hardships. They were eventually released and made their way to a Displaced Persons' camp in South Africa, and in 1947 arrived in Canada. Karolina spent over 50 years living in London, eventually moving to the Niagara area in 2000. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (419 Hill St.) on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca, would be appreciated.
