Kathleen Lilian Meaney

On March 18, 2025, Kathleen Lilian Meaney peacefully passed away at Caressant Care Mary Bucke Long Term Care Home in St. Thomas, at the age of 84. Kathleen leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humour, and a zest for life that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She had a great love for old country music, crafting, crossword puzzles, and indulging in a delicious dessert, with chocolate cake being her particular favourite. Those closest to her will miss her spirited personality, her kindness, and her generous heart that she extended to everyone around her.

Kathleen was born on February 26, 1941, in La Tuque, Quebec, the youngest of 18 siblings. She was the proud mother of one son, Lorne Clements. Later she met the love of her life, David Meaney, and together they spent time in Montreal, and later moved to Southern Ontario, eventually settling in London. The couple shared many fond memories, including their love of the Expos, and cherished the time spent with David’s family in London.

Her devotion to her family knew no bounds. Kathleen adored her grandchildren, Keri English (Dylan) and Ryan Clements (Virginia Doyle), and her great-grandchildren, Zoe and Oliver English, and her daughter-in -law, Ann Clements, with all her heart. She was known for holding her grandchildren for hours, her love and affection evident in every moment spent with them.

Kathleen is predeceased by her parents, Georges and Catherine Theberge, as well as her many siblings and her beloved husband, David Meaney, who passed in 2009.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at O’Neil Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. In honour of Kathleen’s love for flowers and all things beautiful, floral tributes may be sent to the O’Neil Funeral Home and will be donated to Caressant Care Mary Bucke following the service.
