Leslie Michelle Smolen

Peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in London, Leslie Michelle (Ksiadzyna) Smolen in her 64th year, gone too soon. Daughter of Józef Ksiadzyna (deceased) and Czesława Ksiadzyna. Survived by her former spouse, Alexander Smolen and their children, Lauren Smolen Johnson (Mathew) and Adam Smolen (Anne Thompson). Beloved grandmother “Babcia” to baby Aiden Smolen. Dear sister to Alice Kapuscinski (Les), Krystyna Pogoda (Danny) and Dawn Sokolski (Mike). She is missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Leslie was born in Kamiennik, Poland and immigrated to Canada settling in Hamilton with her family in 1965. She lived in Sarnia while raising her children then moved to London to continue her career. Leslie was a devoted nurse and clinical specialist for over 40 years. She will be missed by her friends at Hillrom, where she worked for many years as an in-service coordinator, travelling across Canada to provide medical device training in hospitals. She loved spending time with her family and especially cherished time with her sweet grandson. Leslie was very caring and never hesitated to help others. She loved to laugh and her smile lit up a room. She’s already so missed by those who knew and loved her. Funeral mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Church in Hamilton on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment in Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.  Donations can be made in her name to Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver. https://www.claveriansisters.ca/ Online condolences & Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca
