Sister Lorraine Griffin entered Eternal Life in the peace of the Lord and the hope of Resurrection at the Hamilton Precious Blood Monastery on November 4, 2021. She peacefully surrendered her life to God, surrounded by several of our Sisters and nursing staff. Born on August 15, 1925 in Toronto, ON. She is predeceased by her parents Curtis Griffin and Martha Irene O'Connor, her brother Fr. Merritt (Bud) Griffin, and three sisters, Rosemary, Margaret (Sr. Mary Terence, CSIB), and Grace. She is lovingly remembered by her religious community, and her sister, Sr. Mary Paschal, RPB, of the Hamilton Monastery.
Sister Lorraine entered the Sisters of the Precious in 1946 and made her Final Profession of Vows in 1949. She was a highly efficient person, and was instrumental in her work re-writing the new Constitution after the Second Vatican Council which became the basis for forming Our Covenant of Love in 1982. She was an organist and choir director and served the community in many capacities with a willing and generous heart.
Visitors will be received at the Precious Blood Monastery, 154 Northcliffe Ave, Dundas, on Monday, November 8, 2021, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel at the Monastery on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Holy Seplulchre Cemetery, Burlington, ON.
