Peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016. Maria da Gloria Afonso in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Artur Ambar de Melo Afonso (1991). Dear mother of Eulalia Freitas of Sao Miguel, Portugal, José Ambar (Fatima) of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Normanda Medeiros (Joe) and Anna Ferreira, both of London. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sons - in - law Armando Freitas and John Ferreira. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Thursday, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church (Elm St. At Hamilton Rd.) on Friday at 11:00 a.m., followed by Entombment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
