Maria do Carmo Caloura

With heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Maria do Carmo “Carma” at the age of 89 after many months of failing health. Carma passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born on June 1, 1935 in Fenais da Ajuda, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal to her loving parents Antonio and Georgina Branco. Carma will finally be reunited with her beloved husband Manuel (1986) who is waiting for her with open arms at Heaven’s Gates. Carma was the mother of Lucy, mother-in-law of Jack, proud grandmother of Amanda (Trevor) and Christopher (Joanna). Her great-grandchildren Colby, Amelia and Layla brought her great joy and dearly called her Nana. She was the dear sister to her siblings Isabel and the late Adelaide, Agueda, Georgina and Manuel. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and the US whom she adored. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Borchuk of the palliative care team at Ajax Pickering Hospital for all of his compassion and support, as well as nurse Shamini and PSW Donna for their loving care.Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. London, on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. followed by entombment in the Holy Family Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
