Peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, Maria Almeida (nee Amaral) De Melo in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Mariano Pacheco De Melo (1995). Dear mother of Zulmira Soares, Ester Lima (Manuel), Mariano De Melo (Maria), all of London, Urbano De Melo (Noelia) of New Bedford, MA., Carlos De Melo (Rosarinha), Filomena De Melo (Serafim), Jose De Melo (Geraldina) and Maria Goretti Cabral (Jack), all of London. Loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Olinda and Conceicao (Max), her sister-in-law Palmira and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Gloria, her brother Manuel and her son-in-law Manuel. Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church (Elm at Hamilton Rd.) on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Entombment St. Peter’s Cemetery. Prayers Sunday at 7:00 p.m. A special thank you to the second floor staff of Extendicare for their dedication to our mother’s care.
