Sister Mary Rochetta (Maria Filomena DellaRochetto) entered Eternal Life in the peace of the Lord and the hope of Resurrection at the Hamilton, Ontario Precious Blood Monastery on April 11, 2017, in the 103rd year of her life and the 67th year of religious profession of Vows. She was predeceased by her parents, Dominic and Philomena (Luisi), her brothers Paul, Philip, Joseph and her sisters Rose and Lucy. She was "the rock" of her family and is mourned by her sister Angeline (Angie Winfield) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, USA, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Born on June 17, 1914, in Peterborough, Ontario, Sister Mary had a love for life and a keen interest in current affairs, sports and everything that pertained to the Holy Father, Our Blessed Mother Mary and the Church. Sister was an excellent sacristan and seamstress who served in our Monasteries in Peterborough, London, Winnipeg, Scarborough and Hamilton - always with a smile and sparkling blue eyes! Although she struggled with a sore and tired body, her mind and spirit were very vibrant until she peacefully drew her last breath, surrounded by her Sisters in Community and our night nurse, Arlyn and Sharon. Visitation will be held in the Precious Blood Monastery, 154 Northcliffe Ave, Dundas, Ontario on Wednesday, April 19th from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Monastery on Thursday, April 20th at 11:00 am with Father Robert Dunn presiding. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington, Ontario.
