Peacefully, at University Hospital, London, on Sunday, July 24, 2016, Maria do Espirito Santo (nee Simoes) in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Octavio Furtado (2010). Adoring mother of Marc Furtado (Lubelia), Debora Vieira (Teofilo), Dee Machado (Adriel), Lucy McDougall (James), Nancy Danbrook (Scott) and Eileen Delis (Angelo). Loving grandmother of 18 and great - grandmother of 8. Survived by her brother Manuel Simoes and her sister Almazinda Machado. Predeceased by her parents Manuel Simoes and Maria do Espirito Santo Henrique and her siblings, Maria da Gloria, Carlos, Senhorina and Teofilo. Also survived by her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church, (Elm St. at Hamilton Rd.) on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by entombment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London. Prayers Thursday at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
