With heavy hearts we wish to announce the passing of our dearest mother. Peacefully in her husband's loving arms on Sunday, December 29, 2013, Fatima Goncalves in her 63rd year entered into eternal life on the feast of Sacred Family Day. Beloved wife of Firmino for 43 years. Dear mother of Firmino, Paulo and Fatita. Cherished mother-in-law of Tonya, Jessica and Todd. Precious grandmother of Minito Goncalves. Special sister of Dolorosa (John) Marques, Lourdes (Fernando) Almeida, Celeste (Celestino) Rumor, Lucia Marques and Manny (Lena) Marques. Sister-in-law of Joao, Maria, Saul, Diolinda and Graciete. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fatima was born on October 17, 1951 in Carapelhos, Mira, Portugal. Fatima had a courageous battle with colon cancer and now joins her beloved parents Amelia De Jesus Marques (2009) and Manuel Marques (1996) and her three brothers-in-law Manuel, Daniel and Pete. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Justin's Catholic Church, 855 Jalna Blvd. at Ernest Ave. on Friday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. Prayers will be Thursday at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Entombment St. Peter's Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society on behalf of Fatima's memory.
