Mary Jeaneen "Neenie" Dolan

May 29, 1935 — July 23, 2024

Mary Jeaneen “Neenie” (Casey) Dolan passed away peacefully July 23, 2024, in London Ontario at the age of 89. Born on April 29, 1935, in Tweed Ontario, Jeaneen moved to Belleville in her earlier years and then later in life to Stratford Ontario for 20 + years.

Pre-deceased by her dear twin sister Jeanette ”Nettie” (Casey) Mascaro, Donald Dolan, her mother Laura Casey and father Donald Casey. Survived by her two sisters Carol Casey and Anita (Casey) Canty of Belleville. Jeaneen’s daughters Ann Derry (John Pigden), Casey Gosleigh (Kevin Gosleigh) and Mary Dolan Bohnert (Robert Tracy) will greatly miss the advice, laughter and love Jeaneen brought to our lives.

Jeaneen’s grandchildren Matthew Derry (Belleville), Madelaine Bohnert (Jesse McGregor- London) and Dolan Bohnert (Katie Nelson- Thorndale) will forever remember their grandmother for her kindness and her comical way of seeing life and all creatures. Jeaneen also was blessed with two great grandchildren Charleigh and Cohen Woods Derry as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeaneen worked at Corby Distilleries as a young lady, then on to many jobs ending as a pharmacy assistant at Belleville General Hospital where she retired in 1993. Jeaneen’s kindness, patience and sense of humour followed her wherever she went. She made friends easily and was always an ambassador for acceptance and love to everyone she met. She loved all creatures and pets deeply. Jeaneen loved to garden and her green thumb could be seen on every plant and tree she touched. She immensely enjoyed St. Patrick’s Day and April Fools Day. She celebrated her life with warmth, understanding and kindness. As devout Roman Catholic some of her last words were about Heaven and she said, “Don’t worry about me, I will be dancing with the Angels soon”. One of her most quoted sayings was “Attitude and Gratitude”.

Cremation has already taken place and she will be interred at St. Carthagh’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Tweed Ontario at a later date.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the staff at Extendicare Nursing Home in London (Waterloo St) and to Dr Cyrus Hsai for taking such great care for Neenie and the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VON (Stratford Perth) at www.von.ca/en/locations/perth-huron  and the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca
