Peacefully, with her family by her side, at St. Joseph's Hospice,
London, on Friday, August 21st, 2020 Mary Frances Matthews (nee
Murphy) in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Matthews
(2006). Loving mother of John Matthews (Christine) and Maureen
Broeders (Jon). World's best Granny to Siobhan, Taylor, Finn and
Luke. Survived by her brother Tony Murphy, sisters-in-law Rita
Murphy (the late Donal) and Phyllis Matthews (the late Bob). Also
cherished by many nieces, nephews and dear friends both here and
abroad. Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Mary Murphy, her
father and mother in law William and Ethel Matthews, her siblings
Brother Paddy Murphy, Dennis Murphy (the late Mary), Bridie Murphy,
Leo Murphy, Carmel Murphy (Sister Sarto), Jim and Cis Matthews, Ron
and Chris Matthews, Marilyn Matthews and Freddie Matthews. Mary was
born and raised in Cork, Ireland, moving to Canada as a young adult
and to make a life here while she maintained strong connections to
her family and friends in Ireland. She instilled a love of the Irish
heritage in her family. Her fiesty character and witty sarcasm
endeared her to those that knew her. The family would like to extend
their sincere appreciation to all the home support provided by the
Southwest LHIN and the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice for their
compassionate and loving care. The Funeral Service and interment
service in St. Peter's Cemetery, London, will be held privately. In
lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's
Hospice, sjhospicelondon.com or the VON, www.von.ca Online
