It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Patrick O'Hagan, aged 39, on December 25th, 2021 in his home in Calgary, Alberta.Born in London, Ontario Mike moved to Alberta to become an apprentice welder. He graduated from SAIT from the Welding Technician Program, and eventually went on to run his own business, Fink's Welding Ltd, for over a decade.
Mike had many other passions, but the one he will be remembered for is music. He played guitar, drums and liked to compose his own songs. As multi-talented as Mike was, his favourite way to spend his time was with his son James. Mike was a doting father and James looked up to him, and as he would always tell you 'my dad can do anything'. This is true. Mike was a good friend who always had an open ear, and made time for those who needed him. He would go to any length to help those he cared about, and make them laugh. Humour was at the centre of Mike's life, regardless of what was happening, and it helped all of us who connected with him to cope; as we hope it can continue to do so now when you think of Mike and experience sadness. Mike now that you are at rest, we will hold you close to us, in our hearts and in our memories, making sure your son remembers you for the amazing father you were. Mike is predeceased by his father Michael O'Hagan Senior. He is survived by his son James O'Hagan; former partner Sarah Tarraf; mother Jeanette O'Hagan; sisters Carey O'Hagan and Colleen Winechuk; and nephews Jon O'Hagan and Nathan Winechuk; along with many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and family. A Memorial Service will be celebrated in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. London, on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00p.m. Online condolences & Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca As per COVID -19 regulations, all visitors will be required to wear a mask.
