At Victoria Hospital, London on Monday, October 1, 2012, Michal Wolczyk in his 94th year. Husband of Rozalia. Dear father of Danuta Foster (Ronald), Maria Wolczyk, and Stanley Wolczyk (Sheila) all of London. Loving grandfather of Rena, Sydney and Johnathan. Also survived by nieces and nephews in England, Winnipeg and London. Predeceased by his son Janusz "John" Wolczyk (2000). Born in Biatousza, Poland on May 28, 1919, Michal was a founding member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Parish in London and also of the SPK Polish Combatants Association of Ann Street, London. After surviving a Labour Camp in Siberia, Michal joined the Polish Army, 2nd Corps 12th Lancer Regiment under General Anders. He received the Medal of Valour in The Battle of Monte Cassino while serving his country. Proud to be a soldier, Michal also travelled throughout the Middle East. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill St. on Thursday at 12:00 Noon. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery, London. Michal's family would like to thank the Victoria Hospital Emergency Room Staff, the nursing staff of D-7 200 at Victoria Hospital, the ACE medical team, and the Palliative Care Team, in particular, Dr. Shia in Oncology.
