She was the proud great-grandmother of Alan, Matt, Tori, Audrey, Braeden, Dylan, Bronwyn, Liam, Aislinn, Emerald, Henrik and Kensington as well as great-great-grandmother of Mya. Survived also by brother-in-law Pat McAndrew of Goderich. As you can see, Rita had a large family and that made her very happy.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at McGarrell Place for taking such good care of Rita since May 2014 with extra special thanks to Ria and Dr. Lo. She truly appreciated all that you did for her.
All of us will fondly remember Rita's unwavering positive spirit as well as her sweet yet matter-of-fact way of nudging us all to Just get on with it (many will chuckle reading that). And no matter the ups or downs (or spirited political discussions!), she always had a way of making people laugh. Whether it was around lively Reinhart euchre games or large family gatherings or on her trademark lengthy phone calls, there was always a lot of laughter.
Everyone who knew Rita will undoubtedly think of her on their future birthdays and smile, remembering her annual Happy Birthday singing phone calls. We can all cherish the fact that we were blessed with so many years of them.
