It is with heavy hearts we have to say goodbye to a very dear friend, BJ Springthorpe who passed away on Monday, September 20,2021 at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. BJ fought a courageous battle with dignity and humour. A humour that would keep us all laughing at the most mundane of life's circumstances. He had a special ability to keep the people in his life smiling and most importantly he loved to see his friends happy. His whit and charm was felt by all of us and we will miss him dearly. We are left with many fun-filled memories that all will cherish, along with the big hope for the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the Stanley cup. Hockey was BJ's biggest passion, he was the Leaf's biggest fan. His greatest achievement was coaching hockey, he was a great coach and his teams respected and appreciated him. A perfect evening would be the hockey game on tv, a beverage and the dogs all cuddled up. Now they can all cuddle in heaven together, at peace. He leaves behind many dear friends including the residents and the staff at MasonVille Manor whom he spoke highly of, and the nurses at Victoria Hospital who took great care of him. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
