Roman Blaszczyk

Peacefully, with his family by his side, at University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 Roman Jan Blaszczyk at the age of 78.

Beloved husband of Alicja for 54 years.  Dear father of Tom (Noby) Blaszczyk and Aleksandra (Dino) Lopes.  Loving grandfather of Monique, Alexis and Dominik.  

Roman was an avid motorcycle rider in his early 20's.  He obtained the rank of Lieutenant in the Polish Army reserve, which specialized in anti aircraft artillery.  

Roman obtained a PhD in  chemical engineering from Politechnika Lodzka, Poland where he worked for 20 years before coming to Canada in 1988.  He also worked at the University of Western Ontario as a research assistant and lecturer for a few years.  Loved teaching others and engage in fascinating discussions.

Before his retirement he worked at Casco in their food products development group.  Roman was great husband, dad and friend to us all.  He might be gone but never forgotten.

Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill St., on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Prior to Mass prayers at 9:30 a.m. followed by entombment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. www.youtube.com/@OurLadyofCzestochowa Online condolences & Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca
