Sister Marie Greenslade

Sister Marie Greenslade (Mary Theresa) entered Eternal Life in the peace of the Lord and the hope of Resurrection at the Hamilton Precious Blood Monastery on March 1, 2025, in the 99th year of her life and the 76th year of her religious profession of Vows. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Greenslade and Mary Ellen McGuire and her siblings Catherine Mary and Jack Dennis. She is survived by nieces and nephews and their families who mourn her passing.

We were happy to have her niece Mary Lou who was very faithful to her to come to visit and spent so many hours with her. We especially appreciated her presence in those last hours with Sister Marie’s life. Also present were Sean (Mary Lou’s son), Brenda (Sister’s nurse) and Sr. Theresia, Sr. Arlene and Sr. Maria Bich.

Born in Toronto, ON, on August 6th,1926, Sister Marie entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Precious Blood on May 1, 1946, and made her First Profession on May 24, 1949, in Toronto. For the last few months, in failing health and needing Infirmary care, her quiet presence was a blessing to our Hamilton Community, who witnessed her peaceful surrender in union with Christ.

Visitation and vigil prayers will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Monastery of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, 154 Northcliffe Avenue, Dundas, ON, L9H 7L9. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Monastery, with Father Stanley Nwokeji presiding. Immediately following the Mass, interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington, ON.
