Teresa Medeiros

At her residence in London, with her family by her side, on Sunday, March 7, 2021, Teresa (Teresinha) Medeiros in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Antonio Medeiros (1997). Cherished mother of Elaine, vavo of Catie (Josh) Twells and great-grandmother of Emma. Teresa is predeceased by her siblings, Maria, Maria Jose, Jose, Elias and Rosinha.
1957 saw Teresa emigrating to Canada which she quickly learned to love as she became immersed into a new language along with the freedoms and opportunities she knew Canada had to offer for herself and her future generations who would become part of the fabric that comes with being a Canadian.
She took great pride in her family, always counselling younger members to experience life and to look for the small miracles that God gives every day - to look forward in life and never to dwell in the past.
She, herself, was a ground-breaker in so many ways, never afraid to take chances and to accept any consequences as they came.
A devoted Catholic, Teresa daily thanked God for all the blessings she experienced in her life and counselled her daughter and granddaughter to enjoy life, to live life to the fullest and to ride out the darkest days - because life would always get better. Although she is gone from us now, her spirit is very much in her daughter, granddaughter and now her great-granddaughter. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Teresa's Funeral Service will private and held in the O'Neil Funeral Home on Thursday, March 11, followed by interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
