Tillie Zabehaylo

On January 16th 2019, two days after celebrating her 95th birthday with family and friends, Tillie passed away surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband Steve (1988), daughter-in-law Mary Anne, parents Mike and Mary Zubyk and her special friend Stan McParland. Mother of Mike (Mary Ellen), Pat (Tim), Grandmother of Bob (Kelly), Debi (Brian) and Steve (Samantha). Great-grandmother of Nolan, Peyton, Dryden, Kaiden and Declan. Cousin of Bob and Jennie Martin. Tillie lived a long and fulfilling life. Tillie was born in 1924 in the village of Skomoroshe, Ternople, Ukraine. She was well known in the Ukrainian community as well as in Lambeth where she and Steve owned and operated Haylo's Lunch for many years. She will be remembered by her family in London and Brantford. Tillie enjoyed the company of many friends including Ann Bilyk, Mary Foglton, Muriel Payne and Rita Wilms. Special thanks to the staff of Longworth Retirement Home and the staff at Victoria Hospital's seventh floor. Thank you to Doctor Dawid Martyniak and Father Pio D'Oria for their care and attention. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Monday January 21st, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John the Divine Church on Tuesday January 22nd at 11:00 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior at the church.
